Overview
Rio Tinto, an international mining group, enlisted Grafico to create the brand for its new project based in Thurso, aimed at decarbonizing the company’s activities in Quebec.
Starting from scratch, Grafico developed the new brand, from strategic positioning to naming, visual identity to the creation of all the tools and communication materials required by the Rio Tinto teams.
The Challenge
The main challenge in creating this new brand was to find the right balance between promoting the ecological aspect of the project without falling into greenwashing. To achieve this, Grafico’s strategy was to develop a striking visual identity that is straightforward and impactful, leaving room for information and facts.
The Solution
The use of solid colors and rounded corners conveys respect for the environment, while the photos and text ground the brand in reality, presenting facts and educating the target audiences. Given the large number of people potentially using the brand, it was also critical to deliver a very clear and structured kit to ensure visual harmony in the deployment of Évolys. As a result, the brand was widely praised and quickly adopted by all teams.
